And also one of those weirdos that my mornings need to happen in the exact sequence or I would be cranky for the rest of the day.
How about you? How's your morning like? Do you mediate? Do you laze around in bed until the last moment then rush out the door?
I believe my morning routine need to help me empower, balance and set the right tone for the day.
My mornings look a lot like this:
6:00am - Get up and scan my phone quickly for any important messages, brush teeth and wash my face
6:10am - Rush over to the kitchen, prepare breakfast and lunch boxes for my kids
Around 6:45 - Sit with my kids to make sure they finish their breakfasts, then rush them to get changed and prepare for school.
7:30 - Kids finally off, time for ME TIME!
FIRST THING - STRETCHING
First thing I do is a 5 mins stretch to release tensions on my back. I have a terrible back and it has been torturing me for the last 15 years.
THEN CONNECT WITH MY MIND
Before doing my make up, I put a drop of essentially oil in my palm, cup it around my nose and cheek bones and inhale very very deeply. Relax my mind and focus only on the smell. I don't know when I started this habit but it definitely help energize my day. (Watch this space for post on recommendations on which oil to use!)
CONNECT WITH THE WORLD
I normally have the news channel on while I fix myself a light breakfast just to find out what is happening around the world. After I would drink a tall glass of water before I leave for my studio.
COFFEE! COFFEE! COFFEE!
NOTHING happens BEFORE COFFEE. This is the best time to catch up with my studio assistant to off load random ideas in my head and discuss goals/target for the day.
Now I am ready to tackle my day!
